Thanks for visiting our website and looking at our photo album. In it you will see our four recovery homes for alcohol and drug treatment. We believe they are the perfect place for you to live if you want help for your substance abuse and alcohol problems. The first house you see is an old Victorian. We named it the Platte House after the street it is on. It is a men’s house with a large cottage behind it. It can accommodate 14 men. Many come from different walks of life and all types of different situations. Everyone who crosses the doorstep seems to agree that God lives there in the Platte House. It is run by two managers who are also in recovery. Our women's house is known as Promise Place, and it's located one block from our office. Promise Place was opened in April of 2005 and has a twenty-six resident capacity. It is located one block from the bus stop and is about a ten minute walk from downtown where there are many AA meetings. Promise Place has truly been a joy to watch grow and become a member of the Alano family This is our men's Wahsatch House named after it’s street. This is a side view. Many people in alcohol and drug treatment programs here in Colorado Springs come to this home while they are in outpatient programs. The Wahsatch House is located a 15 minute walk from downtown and just a block or so away from a bus stop. This makes it easy for the residents here to get to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and jobs. Now I’d like to to tell you about the oldest men’s home, Pine House. Many people come here from Valley Hope, The Circle Program, and from all over the USA for their substance abuse problems. Each house has a spirit of it's own, and this one has a spirit of family and togetherness. Pine House is also a 10 minute walk from downtown. There are many 12-step meetings such as Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous close by. The managers of our men’s houses do almost all of our repairs at all of our other houses. They do not get paid, and they are so busy that they don’t have time for alcohol or drugs. “You have to be involved with recovery and have a Sense of Purpose to stay sober.” Our residents make our houses homes, and all of us in them are family. |
